Sterling silver posts and post backs. Hoops measure approximately 1” in diameter. Each hoop weighs approximately 3.1 grams (0.11 ounces).

These hoops were born from a mistake: the original carved wax piece was meant to be a ring, but the molten metal didn’t flow all the way through the mold. This process happen twice (this can happen— sand casting is a rudimentary and ancient process!), creating two asymmetrical pieces from the same wax-carve prototype. I decided to make them into hoops, rather than melt them back down because they were so perfectly imperfect!

I enjoyed wearing these hoops so much, I decided to cast them to order using recycled scrap from me studio.
