Long Braided Celtic Bun with Hairslide
A fancy figure-8 bun with a braid that will have everyone going “how did you do that?” Braid creates a very strong all-day hold!
Braid your hair. Secure end with an elastic if you want!
Make an ‘L’ with your thumb and first finger, then hold the base of the braid making an ‘OK’ sign, leaving your other three fingers out.
Wrap the braid over your pointer finger and bring it down and around your thumb, then back up to your pointer finger.
Use your pointer finger to hook the tail end of the coil and pull it through the loop you made. Don’t pull all the way through so that the tail stays hidden inside the bun.
Take your hairslide and insert it into the top edge of the bun, slide it down into the bun along your scalp. Pop it out the other side of the bun to secure.
I am using the classic hairslide here, but any hairslide will do! you can even practice with a pencil until you’re ready to upgrade to a. beautiful, handmade object ;)
