How to Properly Put On (and Secure!) Organic Hoops

These hoops are super sturdy and secure if you use the proper technique to put them on and secure them! Luckily, it’s super easy to do with this design. These babies are best-sellers (and part of the SKJ Essential Collection, available at sliding scale pricing!) for a reason!

  1. Rather than pry them open by pulling apart the post and back, GENTLY pull them open to get the post out of the hole in the back. When you do this, the post should still be in line with the hole, but not going through it.

  2. With the post lined up alongside the hole, twist open the ENTIRE hoop.

  3. Make sure you are holding and twisting the entire hoop, rather than just the post. The post is thinner metal to fit through your piercing. If you twist or bend the post itself, it will deform and possibly break.

  4. The hoop will remain twisted open so you can slip the post through your piercing.

  5. Once through, again, hold the entire hoop and twist it back, realigning the post and hole in the back of the hoop, gently opening and closing the hoop.

Violà! A sturdy and secure, blingy hoop!

I am wearing the Small Organic Hoops in Brass, but the same method applies to the large sizes in brass or silver.
