Tutorial Tuesday: Easy Chignon with Eureka Pin

Comin’ in hot with a TUTORIAL T-T-TUESDAY! Super easy low chignon bun with a hair pin-- I’m using the Eureka Pin, part of the SKJ Essential Collection now available with sliding scale pricing!

This is easy enough for an everyday ‘do, but could totally pass for a fancy occasion. For this lewk, all you need is a hair elastic and your favorite hair pin! This one works best for long hair.

Here’s how (soooo easy):

  1. Gather hair in a low pony, but don’t pull your hair all the way through so it makes a little loop bun. You want long ends hanging out.

  2. Grab the ends and split in two. Wrap ends up around the loop bun and tie them together (like the beginning of a knot).

  3. If you have ends sticking out after that, you can wrap around again. I just tucked mine loosely underneath the bun. You can pin your ends in place under the bun with a bobby pin if you want/need, but mine were held up with the Eureka Pin just fine!

  4. Slide your hair pin into the bun on top where you tied your ends.

  5. Last step: pull, ruche, scrunch the pieces of the bun to tighten and add volume.

And there you have it! Easy-as-pie chignon fancy bun for the win!

You can do this chignon updo with any of the hairslide style hair pins. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
